you may say I’m a dreamer;;
Hey there, Wildlings! Welcome to Wildlore! Somehow, some way, you found your way to a brand new piece of my business. I’m Jessie, the owner of Wildcrest Studio, and I’m so excited, nervous and ready to start this blog for all of my current and future clients! And if you’re not a current or future client, I hope you can gain some inspiration and knowledge for your future photoshoots. We don’t gatekeep here!
After fourteen years of learning and making mistakes behind the camera, I’ve found so many helpful bits of information that make photo sessions more enjoyable for everyone involved. Even though I found so much valuable knowledge in my fine art studies at WMU, I am a firm believer that there’s only so much you can learn from a teacher. Some things just have to be learned on spot!
I also believe that honesty and transparency are key to healthy relationships, including business ones. As I learn, that openness creates an environment for others to learn too! This blog will be a place for me to share the many tips and tricks I have learned throughout the years that can make our photo experience together full of laughter, confidence and ease. I will also be highlighting full sessions, sharing little glimmers into my own life and brand, plus giving you a little inspiration for your future sessions!
Cultivating long lasting relationships with my clients is truly what keeps me excited about my photography. Oftentimes, I have worked with clients for many years or we just clicked from the start, and those client relationships became true friendships. I adore watching how each client, family and business grows, as much as I love seeing what they do with the photographs we create! I get to learn so much about my clients, love to hear their stories as well as tell them visually, so I thought I’d take a moment to tell you a bit about my story, too.
I’m an avid fantasy reader, stargazer and sun chaser, all inspiration for making magic out of the mundane. Aurora and Lumos, both named after magical light, made me a cat mama and I adore them and all animals so much. I’m also a mediocre plant parent, the proudest Auntie to six niblings (and counting), a collector of hobbies and a coffee addict. Music, especially singing, is also incredibly important in my personal life. I was practically raised by music! That’s why I encourage my clients to make a playlist for their shoot that will make them feel confident and excited about being in front of the camera. I know how impactful music can be for our moods and perceptions of our world!
And of course, I’m a photographer! I loved creating photographs and intricate photo shoots from a young age so photography doesn’t always stay work for me – whether I’m documenting what and who I love in my life or I’m creating fine art fantasy photography in my spare time, photography seems to be in my lifeblood.
Even when I keep work as work, I love to keep it as relaxed and enjoyable as possible, especially for YOU. I’m not a person who likes being in front of the camera; I understand how daunting, self-conscious and awkward so many feel put in that position. Having your photos taken can and should be an absolute blast and even a confidence boost for all you beautiful people. Plus, more often than not, we are taking photos of something to celebrate. Whether it be celebrating your blossoming business, your wedding day or your upcoming graduation, these photos will be a way to capture the beauty of that moment. It should be fun, shouldn’t it? So that’s always the goal, beyond stunning photographs, to have fun making them!
Anyway, that’s me, that’s Wildcrest Studio and this is WILDLORE. I hope you’re all as excited as I am about this new chapter of Wildcrest Studio. Let me know if there is anything you’re dying to know and keep an eye out for new blogs, as well as new work! As always, a huge shout out to every beautiful human who continues to show me their love and support, ya’ll are the real MVP’s!
Stay wild, stay tuned and don’t forget to be yourself!
